No Shadow
Dog grief and the love of coffee
lengthen like a shadow of mine
and now that my eyes no longer
swear to anything I look out
Through the cloud light of this autumn
and see the valley where I came
first more than half my life ago
oh more than half with its river
a sky in the palm of a hand
never unknown and never known
never mine and never not mine
beyond it into the distance
the ridges reflect the clouds now
through a morning without shadows
the river still seems not to move
as though it were the same river

Heading towards autumn
as a phrase from the doors'
"summers almost gone".
Is it raining outside?
Looking forward for the leaves to fall down.
Though some beautiful after summer days would be nice.
Summer passed by quickly. As it always does,
would like to swop the fastness of speed,
wintertime always lasts longer.
I like the green leaves and fields of grass.
The late evening sun. Birds and open windows.
Warm rainshowers with beautiful thunder.
Summer never lasts. It's time for learning again.
Reading pages, making art, watching documentaries
Walking through a hard cold wind towards a mailbox,
walking home soaking wet. Waiting for the bus to come.
Getting older. Time to grow older.
Enjoying the smaller things like I used to in the past.
Learning again in a different perspective.
Getting older, time to grow older
It's gonna be a good winter.
I've learned.

forest
Sundust shines through the leaves of the trees.
Birds whistle their tunes.
Different colours of green.
Natural dirt to walk on.
The wind blows a cooling breeze.
Blue sky, blues.
Natural green. Grass, logs to sit on.
Most people are walking, behind their dog.
Nature. Nurture. Heaven.
To relax, to walk, to feel at ease,
to enjoy, alone or with friends.
A picknick, some wine and food.
Rolling around, running, sleeping.
Thinking.
Opening the gate, back in real life.
Only nature, only civilization.
Only civilization, only nature.
Prosperity, change of time.
A little bit of both, growing.
change of mind, mindchange
Humanswitch, switch off.
Love

Weekend
An easy weekend. Watched a movie, made some food. veggie kebbabs on saturday. A Volendammer meal on sunday. watched "The girl with the pearl earring" based upon a painting by Johannes Vermeer, a dutch painter. "Kundun" based upon the life of the Dalai Lama made by Martin Scorcese. And a dvd from Paul McCartney from his worldtour, was nice to see I've been there when he played in the Netherlands.
Did some study searching. I have a direction but have to look if it is possible. Need to get some extra info on that for some specific subjects I need to take. Some directions are: Landscape architecture, International water management, Environmental building, Vegetation science, Moleculair lifescience, Earthscience.

Thunder
Silence... nothing to be heard.
The wind blows suddenly, leaves whiver into the night.
Some rain falls down against the window.
Trees move and wave all their hair into the wind.
A flash of light appears through the sky.
Rain falls down hard and everything wooves
Light, rain, light, rain, some thunder, more rain
Suddenly....
Silence.... nothing to be heard

Stars
Watched the stars last night. It was a beautiful night. Not too cold. There were many to see and I even saw some falling stars. One was very thick and another fell down for quite some time in a straight white line. Good for the summer. Can't wait. Long beautiful nights.

Spring. Hearing a song. Jazzy folk through the wind. Moving through the country. A soft pastel's falling. Colourful, shades. Like a word rolling from a page. A teardrop. Passed the corner. The night shines from the moon on our house. A daybreak on another continent. Travelling astral in the beyond, passed a life. Mountaintops and trees. Beautiful songs. Past life, future reincarnations. Sunset, shining, never fading in the ocean. Wars are passe. Killing, breathing. My own feeling to take, to feel and give. Moon, Mars, Earth. Souling through spheres. The colours of the night through life experience.

Friendly Fires

Went to Amsterdam this evening with a good friend. First we went to a Thai restaurant for a small bite. It was a good meal. Had some shrimp with rice. In the restaurant someone fainted and fell pretty hard on the floor. Afterwards we went to see the Friendly Fires at the Melkweg. There was another band playing before them. It was a 2-piece band and it sounded pretty 80's. The Friendly Fires were pretty cool. Good music, good atmosphere. The room was pretty crowded. From young girls to elder.. I guess there were even some past their 60's. The band has only one album at the moment and because of that the show didn't last very long. It was a good show. Indierock and electronic music. The band danced a lot on stage, maybe even a bit too much. In the end there were even some people crowdsurfing in the audience. It was a fun evening for a monday.

Van Gogh museum, colours of the night

Last night I went to the Van Gogh museum where there is a new exhibition at the moment called "colours of the night". It was a nice exhibition. Beautiful paintings. They had paintings from all over the world. From Paris, Japan, New york and others. I walked there for more than an hour. It was a while ago that I went there but the newest exhibition is a must see. They even have new opening hours. From thursday until saturday until 10 pm. I saw Starry night, starry night over the Rhone, Potato-eaters. Recollection of Brabant, Country road in Provence by night, End of the day, night (both after millet), landscape at twilight and many others. They also had a few paintings from other artists. I watched them while listening to Sigur ros. There were really beautiful paintings. It wasn't really a big exhibition but it was certainly a nice one. If you haven't been to the Van Gogh before, you can also watch the normal regular exhibition. Always fun to see.
Van Gogh has many paintings and you can see the different periods of his life in it. Everytime he has a different kind of style. Some are painted really fast. Like Starry night, if you see it from a distance it's a cool painting. When you come closer you see many spots which aren't brushed. He painted it real fast. Starry night over the Rhone is totally different, it's nearly glowing. When you look at other paintings some of them are simple but in a way it's extraordinary. I can't tell why I'm so fascinated by his work. Sometimes when I come there I find them boring, other times I can't keep my eyes of the canvas. Everytime I come there another painting catches my attention, which I didn't notice in it's way of meaning or in it's way of painting. Some are psychotic. You understand them when you look at his illness. There is a real difference in style. Some are probably made under influence of absynthe, with beautiful difference of reality, some are made in his psychiatric time. Those are also beautiful, but different. A totally different style. You can see that he missed something. Others have a peace in them with beautiful strokes of colours, others just a few over thick paint. He just had it. He knew what to do. Some are so beautiful... but so fucking simple. Brilliant! Everytime I'm amazed. Because of him we have colour:) I bought some cards.. but they're nothing in comparison with the real paintings. You just have to see them in reality. And if possible.. more than once.
I love Van Gogh

Saw a few movies last week. Benjamin Button, Revolutionary road, Valkyrie and Milk. It were nice movies. Good to watch, though some lasted very long. More than 2 hours. Furthermore did some painting with pastel on a work which is hanging on the wall. It's not gonna be finished for the next few weeks, maybe months. One from 2 by 1 meter. We'll see. On saturday I went to the beach for about an hour. Needed it. It was already getting dark so I couldn't stay long but it was fun. Freezingly cold wind under an upcoming full moon. When I came near the beach I could smell the salty breeze which was nearly a year ago when. I last smelled that. Did a lot of learning the last few weeks. Daily base. Feels good. Upcoming 2 weeks also a lot of learning. Came behind a bit with 2 subjects and have to catch up. Have to study this weekend and than I'm on schedule again. My parents were gone for a small holiday and I didn't learn for three days. Also played guitar hero with a few friends at my place. It was fun.
